2016 – 2017 My travel experience with TUI Wolters

Hello dear reader,

As mentioned in one of my previous posts I wanted to make a review of the travel company operating from Germany TUI Wolters and two of their travels

I have had joined them on a tour through Ireland (2016 – LIEBENSWERTE INSEL) and Scotland (2017 – SCHOTTLAND HIGHLIGHTS). Both were bus tours. The Irish one was in June and the Scotland one in September

That is the basic Info you probably would want to know and now I will try to give you my experience

Let’s start with the plus side:

  • If you do not know the countries it is a good choice to take a round trip like those two, as you will see pretty much most of the attractions and will have a basic feel of land and people
  • The price for the trip and including extras (entrance tickets, hotels etc) was also OK for both as before booking it I checked how much will it cost me to organize it myself and that was much more then with TUI
  • The tour guide and the bus were ok on both occasions, but I had better experience with the guide in Ireland (personal experience will not go in much details)

And now the not so positive side:

  • From beginning you are informed to not expect much from the hotels on the trip as the countries are small and in some of the towns you will visit there is not much choice at all for a group of 30-40 people, but to have rooms smelling of must is not acceptable

In Scotland we had a hotel (3 stars) where my room smelled of mold and I needed to change the room, which at the end of the day after a full day of travel and with no elevator in the hotel was not very nice. The good thing was that they have had a spare room, but are they not expecting the rooms before giving them to people???

In Ireland we had a stay at a “hotel” that looked to be a dormitory sometime in the past, but at least the room did not smell

  • When you book you are told that the price for the transfer from and to the airport is included, but at the end only if you book it from start to end of the visit. I mean if you plan to be in the country a day before the start because let’s say you do not have a flight at the exact date, that’s not included.

I think this probably is connected to the fact, that normally the company is working with people from Germany and not some other countries like I am, but after all that’s not very friendly from their site. They should at least deduct the amount from the price if you are not using the option.

  • In both countries the cuisine was not such at all. We pretty much had the same meals on all of the days, a variety will be good to have
  • On both trips we needed to be at the hotels around 6 pm so we were rushed at some of the visitor places we saw. It would have been good if the time was managed better

The last “negative” I have is that in those 7 days the trip is taking, you will be so overwhelmed with travel that you will need a vacation from the vacation, but that is expected when you book such a trip

The first way around I traveled with a friend, second time alone. From start the Scotland trip did not start good (airline has lost my baggage) and the guide in Scotland was a little bit frigid towards me or so I felt like, so if I have the opportunity I will probably choose Ireland for a trip again and will choose myself the cities and places I want to visit. I dreamed of visiting Ireland and that was a dream come true for me. I cannot compare the nature really, because I visited both countries in different seasons, but I will definitely say I loved Ireland more.

If you ask me if I would travel with TUI again, I will probably say only if I do not know the place I am traveling to as organizing a trip for an entirely unknown destination is a hustle and it’s easier to have that done by someone else.

Hope that this review will be helpful for some of you

2017 Essence Metal Shock is Stilla Glitter and Glow Dupe?

Hello world,

long time no see, but I am so busy at work, that I do not have time to update my blog.

This time in a short review I want to share this liquid eye shadow from one of my favorite drugstore brands Essence:

I really love this one . I have Number 2 stars & stories. It looks to me like a dupe of Stilla’s “Smoky Storm”. When it sets on the eyelid it stays put for 8 hours. You can blend it with your finger or put it with the applicator and let it dry for more of a dramatic effect. It has color and not just glitter. If you blend it you need to be quick as when it dries it stays, but in the evening you can remove it without any problem.

I just love it and would recommend it to anyone who asks and wants to try something new.

So that was a short and painless review, hope you like it

2017 duty free beauty shopping

Hello dear reader,

in this short post I just wanted to share what I bought  on my way back from my vacation in Scotland.

Looking through the shops nothing impressed me much, but I knew I wanted to splurge on a high end cosmetic and here are the two items I bought.

The first item is the foundation from Giorgio Armani. I knew that I need some light color, but Number 3 is already the third lightest one. In store it looked good, but I think it is still a little bit light for me as my face looked whitish in artificial light. Probably will need to put some blush or something else (normally I do not wear blush or bronzer) and I will definitely will wear it again as it did blend quite well with my skin.

Before my vacation started I looked through some beauty guru’s youtube video reviews and decided that I want to try out the Rouge Dior Liquid Lipsticks or the YSL Tatouage Couture Lipsticks. Here is what I bought at the end:

The color is pink matte one. I love the packaging. The lipstick itself is very good. Stays for hours, does not dry my lips and is comfortable to wear. I do not think much of the matte liquid lipsticks because I do not like how they taste and smell, but this one is OK for me. I am thinking perhaps to buy some other once, but we will see.

I know this is not a haul, but if I must be earnest there was not much choice in the shops, that would make me wanna spend my money on the items from first look.

Stay tune for a post with pictures and review on the travel agency and the tour I was in September in Scotland… Coming soon …

2017 Yankee candle haul

Hello dear Reader,

so for couple of weeks I thought about buying two Yankee candles: one being the Christmas Garland an the other Passion Fruit Martini look at what I have ended with

Last weekend a friend of mine and I did go to one of our local malls for me to get just the Martini one as I already had the Christmas Garland couple days before. To my surprise they had 40% off of all Yankee Candle merchandize. I was so happy that I decided to take more. The lady in the shop said that I can save money on the big jars, but I wanted to try more scents so I took the little ones and the two additions to my bag were : Sunset Breeze and Flowers in the Sun.

Below you can see more info on the candles. I normally will pick Bath and Bodyworks, but as they are not easily accessible for me I decided to give Yankee a second try

Here are the descriptions from the official sites

Sunset Breeze

About This Fragrance

Take an evening stroll on a beach, with scents of tropical fruits moving on the breeze, back and forth just like the surf. Fragrance Notes: Top: Pineapple, Peach, Mango? Mid: Pear Blossom? Base: Musk

Flowers in the sun

About This Fragrance:

Like a walk in the garden with sunlight spilling over all the golden colours – a remarkably bright scent of sweet blossoms. Fragrance Notes: Top: Lemon, Orange
Mid: Blooming Azaleas, Rosebuds, Pink Waterlillies Base: Sweet Airy Musk

Passion fruit Martini

About This Fragrance

Sit back, relax and savor a tropical mix of passion fruit, mango, and zesty orange. It’s like a long sip of a true beachside cocktail. Fragrance Notes: Top: Juicy Pineapple, Tropical Mango, Zesty Orange Mid: Passion Fruit? Base: Musk

I will most probably write later if I loved them, when I burn them, but that will not be before autumn probably as we have over 30C temperatures here.

So till next time… have a nice summer everyone

2017 YouTube made me buy it – NARS fail product of the year

Hello dear reader,

you probably will not agree with me, but the NARS sheer glow foundation for me is the FAIL Product of this year.

Looking for new product to test, I researched online and checked couple of youtubers reviews and decided to try this NARS foundation, but if failed for me from the start.

I cannot find anything positive about it. I have the color Siberia. which if the texture was OK would be perfect match for me. It claims to give your skin a glow, but it does not for me at all. It claims to be without a smell, but for me it has a subtle paint smell. It does not blend with my skin and clings to all dry patches (on moisturized skin too). It stays as a mask on my skin, which I do not like at all. It is to runny, but the biggest negative is, that it does not have a pump and is a messy as hell, when you use it.

Look at the cap above and the bottle neck

I am so disappointed that I have no words. I still will try to use it as a “white” foundation, but if it would be possible I would have want my money back.

Do you have similar experience? Am I the only one that do not like it? I tried it with brush and Real Techniques Beauty Blender, but get same result and do not like it. I still prefer my Guerlain and Max Factor foundation hundred times more.

Feel free to comment and share your experience…

Have a nice day

2017 June favorites

Hello dear reader,

as I was a little bit bored today, I decided to take some pictures for future posts here on my blog. When I looked for items I wanna take picture of, an idea for a post came to me and here what came out of that:

Since about May I am using the following items, but mostly this month of June.

I have the Bare Minerals foundation for a long time, but I use it mostly when it is hot outside. It does give me good coverage and combines very well with the moisturizer from Garnier. It does not look strange and last on my combo to dry skin until I come back from work and take it off. The biggest plus is that it keeps me matt and in our heat here in Bulgaria it is saying something.

As I mentioned the Garnier Moisture Protect + daily protective moisturizer with SPF 20 let me share some details about it next. I have used the Moisture Matte + moisturizer (the green tube) from the same line before and was very happy with it. I bought some other items from the same range, but will speak about them later, when I have tried them. So the Moisture Protect has a light cream texture, with a slight white color (because of the SFP I assume) that blends very well with my skin and gives me the perfect base for my Bare Minerals Powder Foundation. It says that it is enriched with Vitamin E, SPF 20 and Calendula extract, it should help protect my skin from external aggressors, plus Lemon extract and light reflecting pearls for a radiant and unified looking complexion. It is oil free and is suitable for sensitive skin too. I would definitely recommend it, if someone asks me.

Right in the picture next to the Bare Minerals is a favorite of mine “Pro Studio Brush Bath…, not a beauty item, but a beauty tool. When I did made my last kosmetik4less order I decided to try this brush cleanser as my Beauty Blender Tester was almost over and I wanted to have a professional “tool” to clean my brushes. This one from Freedom Makeup is a good one. It takes all the dirt from my brushes and sponges, makes them squeaky clean and smell nice. It costs only 8.95 Euro and it has 100 ml ,so it will last me long time.

For the item in the middle of the picture I will first share a picture with a swatch

It is Colour Pop’s Ultra Blotted Lip in the color Slide. Its a liquid lipstick, but lighter in texture than the normal ones. It dries matt, does not dry my lips and they feel smooth as if a powder is on them. It does not have a taste or a smell, which is good for me and it is long wearing. You need to try it to know what I mean. As Colourpop do sometimes an international free delivery (I did manage to use that) you just need to wait for that and use it.

Last on my favorite list for this month is a new finding for me. I use Max Factors CC Colour Correcting Cream (good that I have couple as it is not available anymore at least here in Bulgaria), and I love it so  I thought, that I want to try more from their foundations. I read reviews, researched and stopped my eyesight at this one: “Ageless Elixir Miracle 2 in 1 Foundation and elixir“. The color I use is 40 light ivory. The texture is mousy, but light. It has a nice smell, does not break me out. Gives a dewy look to my skin and has medium coverage. It has SPF 15. It says that it helps protect against ageing signs like discoloration and age spots with daily use. As I am in my mid 30s I thought it will be good to have something to help me care for my skin, and for now I am very please with it.

To finish this long post, just want to say stay tuned for a NARS foundation review in the next weeks and share your thought on the items, if you have used them

Till next time…
